To all our incredible guests and UNI family, you have all been so incredibly supportive this week, we love and appreciate you for it! At this time, with the well being our staff and you in mind, we have decided to fully close the restaurant for now. UNI is a lively, contemporary izakaya located in The Eliot Hotel on Commonwealth Avenue, helmed by Chef-Partners Ken Oringer and Tony Messina. The menu highlights global street food-inspired small plates, as well as innovative makimono, nigiri, and sashimi, alongside craft cocktails and a wide-ranging sake program.
In May 2019, Chef Messina was named Best Chef: Northeast by the James Beard Foundation, having been a semi-finalist in 2018 in the same category. Chef Oringer was named a semi-finalist in the Outstanding Restaurateur category in both 2018 and 2019.
In November 2018, Boston Magazine named UNI number one on their list of Boston's Top 50 Restaurants.
